A drawing of a golden goose sitting on a nest

I finished a wall-hanging project in late December. It combined a bunch of new-to-me skills, and I overthought every step!

Afterward I felt excited and exhausted. But most of all, I felt lost. My brain was smooth and empty. So it’s been a full moon cycle since I last posted. Yesterday marked the last-quarter moon, and next Sunday will be the new moon.

Since then, the USA got a lot more crazy. I would write more but I don’t know how.

I drew the sketch above of a golden goose while trying to work out some feelings with art. Killing the golden goose — is this not what the ultra-wealthy are doing at this very moment? Our country’s wealth has been built on the domestic stability that they are so busily tearing down. Nothing makes sense. Every day is crazytown.

I’m closing with the one other drawing I made this week. This was inspired by a news photo of the memorial that sprang up at the spot where an ICE agent murdered Renee Good in Minneapolis. I think it was taken quite soon afterward. There were red bloody spots on the roadside snow, and a half-dozen white roses.

in memory of Renee, and all the victims of ICE

In the words of @prisonculture.bsky.social:
May tomorrow bring us more justice and some peace.
