a pet peeve about a book

why the moon phases?
In COVID time, today is March 2061st, 2020.
I latched on to astronomical observations — mostly moon phases, and seasonal landmarks like the solstices and equinoxes. It made me feel less adrift in time.
We all kept thinking, next year will be better. Or the next. Or the next. Well howdy, we still don’t know how bad it can get.
Whatever happens, at least the moon and stars will be there. (No, we’re not going to think about Seveneves.)
